Dr. Joel Reemstma

Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministries

Joel Reemtsma received his ThM in 2008 and his PhD in 2018 from DTS. He joined the faculty as an adjunct professor in 2019 and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministries. He thanks God for the chance to help train the next generation of pastors and ministry leaders to model Christ for God’s Church.

Prior to his faculty role at DTS, Dr. Reemtsma served as an associate pastor at his home church in Kenai, Alaska, to which he returns every summer for ministry. He also taught OT and Hebrew classes at Criswell College for three years. His research interests include OT wisdom literature in general and especially the book of Job. Dr. Reemtsma has coached soccer at a variety of levels in several states, and he is currently the varsity coach at St. Mark’s School of Texas. When he is not in the classroom, at his desk, or out on the soccer pitch, he usually heads for the wilderness!
